Rachel Tennison Recognized at Wittenberg's 2015 Honors Convocation

2015 Apr 16

Concluding a day-long Celebration of the Liberal Arts at Wittenberg University, the campus community celebrated the achievements of students and faculty members at the annual Honors Convocation, Friday, April 10, in Weaver Chapel. The faculty commemorated the occasion in full academic regalia as the university recognized high achievement of students and faculty members in academic and co-curricular activities.

Rachel Tennison of Canal Winchester, OH, was recognized as a Presidential Scholar. Named for each of Wittenberg’s former 13 presidents, the Presidential Scholars are the members of the junior class who have maintained the highest academic standing in their class through the preceding five semesters at Wittenberg. She also was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta. Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. LPH represents what Aristotle described in The Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), pathos (Pi), and ethos (Eta). Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline.
